Bloggy Giveaway Carnival Part Four!
Bring out the bling!
First off, let me apologize for the pictures. I was in a rush this morning and snapped a couple of shots to get them up for the giveaway. This is a Lia Sophia necklace and earring set. I believe they're called Plum Dandy, but I could be mistaken. I ordered these sight unseen and when they arrived, I just didn't love them. Someone else out there will probably give them a much better home and actually take them out for a night on the town once in a while. (If I keep them, they're going to be stuck way down in the bottom of the jewelry box and never have any fun.)
The center stones are a deep purple, and the smaller stones are a lovely lavender. All the stones have a lovely ripple or cats eye effect. The necklace is adjustable from 16-19 inches.

I'd keep the jewelry...I've got a great new sweater to wear them with. As for the photographs - the hardest part is the lighting. Would putting them on a black or white cloth help? I'm not sure, but worth a try.

These are very nice. I have a friend that always wears jewelry like this, kind of bohemian. I always say I should wear more jewelry like that. Now would be my chance. I'd wear this with a peasant skirt and a soft cotton blouse.

Pics aren't bad at all. I love this set. I just got a new purple maternity top yesterday that would look so good with the set. I pregnant with my 1st & it's taken me 8 years!!! What gorgeous jewellery! I wear a lot of purple or mauve or some variation of purple, but don't actually have any jewellery in that colour.

You know, I'd probably have to split them up and wear them with two outfits. I just can't wear matching earrings and the necklace together. But that makes it twice as good, two days to wear these gorgeous pieces. Oh and I'd probably wear them with a black blouse, yeah both times. I like black. :)

They are beautiful! I think the best way to take a picture of something like that is to set it on a white cloth or blanket outside, not in the direct sun (so like early morning or late afternoon, or in the shade).

As far as the photos, they don't look too bad. If you are using a digital camera, the icon that looks like a flower is what you need to use for close-up photos.

I just got a dress and heels that this jewelery would go perfect with! Also it would help to not take pictures on a wood surface, it distracts the eye and doesn't help the color in the jewelery stand out. Try posing them on a solid (black or white) color surface.

Hello! Something I've found helpful when taking pictures of jewelery with a digital camera. First, turn off the flash. Second, if you don't have a graphics program for editing get the GIMP...it's free (just search for GIMP in google and download the one that goes with your browser (Linux, Mac, Windows). Then open your picture and go to "Colors - Levels" Try doing Auto Levels first and if that doesn't work mess around moving the little arrows on the bars under the output levels and lightness darkness til it looks like you want.
But your pictures were pretty good...those are just tips.
